A hilarious email I just had to share with you :

Master Card Wedding

You got to love this guy...

This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University .

It was in the local newspaper and even Jay Leno mentioned it.It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests.

After the wedding, at the reception, the groom got up on stage
with a microphone to talk to the crowd.

He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding.

He especially wanted to thank the bride's and his family and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him.

So taped to the bottom of everyone's chair, including the wedding party was an envelope. He said this was his gift to everyone, and asked them to open their envelope.

Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy
of his bride having sex with the best man.

The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had hired a private detective to tail them. After just standing there, just watching the guests' reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, 'F---you!' Then he turned to his bride and said, 'F--- you!'Then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said, 'I'm outta here.'

He had the marriage annulled first thing in the morning.

While most people would have canceled the wedding immediately after finding out about the affair, thisguy goes through with the charade, as if nothing were wrong. His revenge--making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for a 300-guest wedding and reception, and best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputations in front of 300 friends and family members.

This guy has balls the size of church bells.

Do you think we might get a MasterCard 'priceless' commercial out of this?Elegant wedding reception for 300 family members and friends: $32,000.Wedding photographs commemorating the Occasion: $3,000Deluxe two-week honeymoon accommodations in Maui : $8,500.The look on everyone's face when they see the 8x10 glossy of the bride humping the best man: Priceless. There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's MASTERCARD

...YEP...I STILL GOT IT GOING ON...LOL

Obviously I'm referring to Friday night with the ladies.

It was an uber-fun night and we all had a good time :o)
Dinner at The Metropolitan Grill followed by a bit of dancing at The Whiskey. The bar has an age minimum of 25, I was thinking it would be more of a 30s-40s crowd but it was definitely a 25 crowd with the exception of the old couple who were obviously from out of town and a wee bit out of place.
Saturday was a pretty casual day, Alex had a birthday party at a pre-school classmate's house. It was optional to stay or drop off so I chose to drop off. Alex said he wanted me to stay but before I even had time to unzip my coat he was outta there, off playing with his buddies so I decided to grocery shopping without the boys. Total sanity saver, right there!
Aaron stayed home with Joey while we had the furnace cleaned and would you believe their effing truck dumped a whole lot of diesel on our street out front?! We were totally not impressed because we were left with the cleanup job. Aaron phoned the company and they just laughed it off and said ' hope the truck doesn't catch fire ' , huh, wha? How could they be that environmentally retarded? Anywho, Aaron was super-husband and saved the day and did the cleanup.
Last night we had our big Easter dinner with Aaron's parents and then Joey opened a can of whoop-ass and schooled them on bowling and golf. It was priceless!
Today we got about 4 inches of snow, WTF, and decided to take the boys to see Horton Hears a Who. Joey'd already seen it but sat through the entire movie with us. It was a pretty cute movie!
Tonight Joey and I are going with the Beavers to visit the Okotoks Fire Hall...should be a fun evening!

What has reality shows come down to?

America's Most Smartest Model...is sooooooooo stupid but I couldn't seem to change the channel no matter how dumb it seemed.

They dissected a pig fetus and then had to do a commercial shoot in icy cold water - I still don't get how this captured my attention for an entire hour. Weird, eh?

Less than 24 hours until my birthday celebration with the ladies :o) I'll be showcasing my new jeans and quite possibly some birthday jewellry. My BFF Kathryn (and husband Jeff ) bought me a killer silver serpentine chain with an aquamarine/silver pendant. It is freaking gorg! Aaron took a picture but...er...the angle wasn't exactly flattering on my neck wrinkles...uh, yeah, hard to believe I'm 30 and not 80...Do you think the old myth of prepartion H would really help smooth out wrinkles? Kidding! (but really, do you think so?)

Sibling equality?

Here's something I've been putting some thought into lately - is it necessary to give each child the same thing everytime. That didn't make as much sense as I'd hoped but I'll try and explain.

Whenever I buy something for Joey I always try and buy something similar for Alex BUT half the time Alex isn't really interested. So, why do I bother?

Because I'd feel guilty and think I was showing favouritism if I didn't.

Here's an example:

Times had changed between pregnancies and video wasn't an option with Joey but I could have had a video of Alex - yet I said no. Why is that? Because I didn't have a video of Joey and I didn't think it would be fair.

Really do you think Alex would care? Hmm, probably not, but that's my frame of thinking. Looking back it would have been awesome to have the in utero baby video...

The same goes with birthday parties and birthday gifts...unfortunately for Alex he wasn't ready for a big boy bike the same year that Joey was and it collected dust for awhile. I still feel guilty about that - even though we bought him a scooter when we realized our faux-pas.

So, moms and dads out there, what do you think?

Happy Easter!

We're not celebrating Easter this weekend b/c Aaron had to work the entire freaking weekend so we'll be doing the egg hunt and big dinner next week.

Anyways,

Cindy and I took the girls and Alex to Fort Calgary today for their Easter celebration and it was fabulous! Kids had free admission and got to participate in a treasure hunt for Easter bunnies throughout the Fort Calgary displays, decorate eggs, colour pictures and have their faces painted. The artist was fab! I asked if she does birthday parties and it turns out that she's the same one that's booked for Mackenzie's party. I have a feeling Alex might be getting a visit from Pippi as well :o)

Tomorrow will be a big day, Aaron will be 33 and Joey comes home from Nannie and Papa's. Can't wait - we missed him like crazy - today he phoned to talk to Alex b/c he knew he was sick and was a bit worried. Doesn't that just tug on the ole heart strings?!?

62 minutes of my birthday left...

And what a fabulous day!

I don't think it could have been better :o) Half of my dayhome kiddies were away so it was a quieter day and we coloured Easter eggs without any huge misshaps. I was the only one to walk away with pink and blue stained fingers this year. My boys were well behaved and I got a ton of Happy Birthday phone calls and ecards. Love love love everyone for the well wishes! Kalyna wrote in my birthday card that the 30s are THE BEST DECADE! I'm looking forward to it...

Aaron and the boys gifted Mama Bear with this:
By this afternoon I had it pretty much figured out. The only crappy thing is the Power Pack that Aaron bought with it lacked power. The camera case and strap were in the box but it was missing the extra batteries and charger so off I go to the store tomorrow to have them replace it with a powered up Power Pack.
The boys also took me out to dinner tonight at Tony Roma's. I totally over indulged myself and had the Spinach/Artichoke dip as well as filet mignon followed by New York cheesecake. Gah! I almost had to put my jammies on when I came home I was that full.

My friend Jenn and her family gifted me with this:

Let me tell you, I freaked out when I saw this. Until this morning I have never owned anything LULU! Yeah! I'm finally catching up to the trends :o) Thank you thank you Jenn, Darryl & Lucas - you guys are fabulous on so many levels!

And my bestie Andrea gifted me with this:

Yes that is indeed 30 pink flamingo/buzzards and a ginormous Happy 30th Birthday sign and banner...now it's definitely not a secret...

Anyone liking the hair? I'll have to do a close up tomorrow with the new camera. It's chocolate cherry and very different. Usually I go for the blond highlights this time of year but I was feeling a bit adventurous.

And my girlfriend Jacquie brought over something to help me celebrate:

I think I'll be bringing it to Couples Bunco tomorrow night...
And Kalyna and family gave me two of my fave things: music and reading material. It came in the form of an iTunes gift card for some new music and the newest LouLou magazine.

Thanks everyone for helping make this day a memorable one :o)

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Where is my commen sense?

For some reason I'm not willing to pay $500 to frame a Calgary Flames jersey but I certainly had no problem shelling out $200 for these last night at Christine's jean party. It was fun although there weren't a lot of 30+ sizes and a whole bunch of -30 sizes. I'm still glad I went. I now own some Hollywood Hills by Paige :o) Now I just need to have them tailored for length and I'm good to go.
Joey got the wink and the nod from Nannie and Papa this morning that they're ready for him to come back for a visit and he's so excited! Joey's been deciding what games, toys and books he'd like to bring and what can stay.
Aaron and I have a night out planned for Friday so Alex will have the sitter all to himself. He said he's okay with it and he's making his own list of all the things they're going to do.
The boys have different interests and I think Joey takes over a lot and decides for everyone what they're going to do so it'll be a nice break for Alex who'd take playdough over Wii anytime/anyday.

$500?!? Huh, whaddayamean that's 1/2 price?

I FINALLY took Aaron's Calgary Flames signed jersey in to see how much it would cost to have it framed and yeppers they quoted me 500 bucks.

Wowsers! It's not like it's an Iggy jersey or anything.

So, we're now looking at a few other ..er more cheaper.. options. And all this is to decorate our family room. I had this vision in my head of a few framed UFC posters and the framed jersey but now I'm rethinking this a wee bit.

If anyone in cyberspace has a cheaper option I'm all ears :o)

*************************************************************************************

And to celebrate St. Paddy's Day we had green milk and cookies and read some books about lephrachauns - simple, yet fun.

Trying to get back into a routine

Now that the Totally 80's party has come and gone I'm trying to get back into regular life-mode but with the daylight savings everything's totally out of whack.

And then I got a blast from the past AKA my teenage wasteland years. I have hung out with some people that I wouldn't associate with in my life as we all know it today. That being said, a lady that I used to know was murdered and the Mary Kay Schmidt trial is underway here in Calgary as we speak. Mary was a bit kookie but I always thought she was harmless, always had good intentions and an open door to help people out.

Now, onto a much lighter topic. Natalie's boobs!?! Who else is totally and completely grossed out by the whole breast milk video?

I swear Blogger hates me

Gayle with Wayne, Slash and Gene Hmm, I think I needed a bigger vent....
Baby with Tubbs and a punked out Madonna :o)

I haven't been very successful uploading pics at all over at the Team Crockett website so I thought I'll give it a try here.

The party was uber-fun! We surpassed our goal, danced until we were sore, laughed until we were hoarse and drank until we sobered up :o)

A true sign of a good party is that Aaron and I are already starting to plan next years fundraiser...

See what I've been super busy with?

Well this was actually the easy part - the hard part was making the shopping list. How much will people drink? What kind of drinks should we offer? So, we're gonna keep it simple. Beer, highballs and coolers.
Aaron's had his costume for weeks now and finally tried it on the other day - can't wait to post pictures. Hmm...who's going to be taking pics of the evening? I was hoping we'd have our new camera by then but it doesn't look like we will and our other camera seems really slow on focussing and we always seem to miss the moment, if that makes sense. Better bring your camera Mom...

I'm not having writer's block, really

I'm just running out of free time lately.

I did have a sec to pop in to my own blog, comment on a couple and enter a contest. Jen at The Delusional is having a contest and it was just the break I needed right now. Thanks Jen!

How can this freaking happen to me?

I was having a fab weekend. Dinner out Friday night + Bunco with some of my besties = a hella good time :o)

Saturday was a bit meh. The boys had the pleasure of entertaining themselves while I carpet cleaned. The boys were great and the carpets look a lot brighter and spot free. As a reward for a job well done I decided that we'd meet Aaron at Montana's for dinner after he was done work. (Truth be known my hands were so sore and swollen the idea of cooking almost brought tears to my eyes.) So, off to Montana's we went. And my kids were fabulous! We are finally 'that family'. You know the one. When your kids are freaking out and being loud and whiny in a restaurant and you see a family where the kids are just colouring and being good. WELL WE ARE FINALLY THAT FAMILY!!!

And then there was this morning...

When I woke up with the mother of all pimples right on my chin. Our party is five days away and I'm looking like I'm sporting a big cherry tomato on my chin. Not pretty. It actually hurts to smile...sigh...off to the drugstore I go.
