17.4 pounds of candy

That's right. My boys trick or treated and ended up with 17.4 pounds of candy. Now what the heck will we do with it all????

We had a great Halloween. We had a fairly successful dayhome party mid-day with a craft, balloons, lunch and cupcakes :o) Then the boys went trick or treating with their friend Zeke and his dad and Aaron while his mom and I sat out front passing out treats and chatting.
A good time was had by all!

Here's a Challenge for all bloggers!

NaBloPoMo begins November 1st. The idea behind this group is to post every single day in the month of November. I first came across this in the first week of November LAST YEAR and have waited an entire year to sign up and give it a go. So if you sign up with NaBloPoMo look me up!

There are prizes to be won too....

Happy Halloween!

The picture totally doesn't do it justice but this is the fruits of my labour :o)

13 things heard at the lunch table today

  1. I have an epi-pen.
  2. Really? My papa has a special snorkel so he can breathe at night.
  3. Hey! Is this cow's milk?
  4. Seriously? Have I EVER given you cow's milk before?
  5. Hmmm....nope. You love me and that's why you buy soy milk just for me.
  6. Can we play Martian Matter after lunch?
  7. What's an epi-pen? I have a yellow puffer.
  8. Hey! I have a yellow puffer too. You should come to my house one day with your yellow puffer and I'll have my yellow puffer and that would be so cool.
  9. Can we go for a Halloween walk today?
  10. Somebody's stinky!
  11. If blueberry syrup is made from blueberries what is maple syrup made from? Strawberries or raspberries?
  12. I don't have an epi-pen or a puffer but I do have a pimple.
  13. Is it Friday yet?

Practising for CA- RA- ZEE HAIR DAY!

The boys are having Black & Orange/Crazy Hair Day on Friday in lieu of dressing in Halloween costumes and they were not disappointed one bit.
Can you tell someone has been anxious to wear Daddy's "Slash" wig from our 80's party?

Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Janiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeee Happy Birthday to you

I missed her birthday last week but have planned a FABULOUS girls night out to celebrate. We are going to UB the Artist to do some creative stuff. Not sure what everyone has in mind but I can guarantee that mine will be simple :o)

What a whirlwind weekend!

I Bunco'd with the Ladies Friday night and then Saturday night Aaron and I Bunco'd with our friends. It's been a lot of dice-rolling and a lot of laughing. My cheeks are a bit sore from smiling and laughing NON-STOP! I really should remember to take pictures...

It was inevitable

Joey's inherited his dad's eyebrows. Lucky for him they're pretty fair but I can foresee he'll b e sporting thick dark pussywillows by the time he's a teen. Lucky for him - I'm an expert when it comes to waxing and tweezing :o)

The jury's still out when it comes to Alex's brows:
Here's a borrowed picture from cousin Crystal of Aaron and I and the bride/groom from last Saturday. I wonder what song we were dancing to?

And finally, my pumpkin bowl:

It was an evening out for my mother in law and I and this was the final result. It was my first class and I quite enjoyed it. As a matter of fact I've booked a party of 6 for a couple weeks from now for Janine's birthday celebration. I think it will be a great night :o)

Guess what they're advertising

Hmm...they're both wearing dark denim.

Jeans?

Nope.

Well...they're smiling so maybe it's toothpaste or chewing gum - you know for whiter than white teeth and fresh breath.

Nope.

This is actually a Rockport Shoe ad.

But. They're. Not. Wearing. Any. Shoes.

Go figure.

Where the heck was my camera?

When Alexander put his swimming trunks on and bolted outside this afternoon to go play in the sprinkler?

It was probably about 8 or 9 degrees outside so not exactly water weather BUT once he seen Aaron drag the sprinkler out to the backyard he had a one track mind!

So funny!

And so it begins - a new chapter of - BUNCO

I quit my original Bunco group in June and have been missing it like crazy so I've started up my own :o)

Some of the original girls have switched over to mine. I almost feel guilty.

Almost

:P

Friday night is our first night and it'll be fab. We've changed the prize distribution slightly and decided to play for gift cards only. I find that sometimes if you can't pick a theme it can be really hard to shop for prizes that everyone would enjoy. I suppose the same is true with picking stores to shop at but this is where I've picked:

We've also eliminated the hostess gift and gone with $30 gift cards versus $20. You can't please everyone BUT they can always re-gift to a teacher at Christmas...not that I've ever done that...seriously I haven't...
Can't wait for Friday!

Why Me???

Has this ever happened to you before?

I placed my Stampin Up order as per usual and it was due to be delivered on Friday. I was home Friday and no package BUT with the wedding, house cleaning and going out that evening I kind of forgot about it until now. So, checked my status online and yeah, apparently IT WAS DELIVERED! It even states on the proof of delivery Met Cust Wom which I'm thinking implies that it was personally given to a female at the door?!?

So, I've emailed an inquiry to see where we go from here?!

Why me??!

2 weeks later

I'm finally updating. I've been busy and the blog has just been on the backburner. I've just signed up for NaBloPoMo

Maybe it's the kick in the butt I need to get my blogging back on track. I guess we'll see.

Anyhoo, I'll skip recapping the last few weeks. And start from today, okay from yesterday.

We attended our 4th wedding of 2008! (That's an unusally high amount of weddings for us). So in my 4th new outfit, we headed to the church to watch Shane and Tamara exchange nuptials. The priest was fairly long-winded but in a nice way. It didn't seem like preaching but more of just conversing. I don't know if that made sense, but it wasn't a hardship to listen to and I think a lot of people walked away with a little something from him.

Here are the newlyweds:

We didn't bring our camera to the reception which turned out to be a good thing because WE DANCED THE ENTIRE FREAKING NIGHT!!! I could barely walk this morning! Love my new shoes - no blisters - BUT my toes aren't used to high heels. In any case it was great!

Here is the only picture with me in it from the ceremony and it was obviously an accidental pic:

There are 4 songs that need to be played at any Beck wedding:

I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock N Roll

The Broom Dance song - I can't remember what it's called but you literally dance with a broom

Rasputin for some good ole fashion russian dancing with Uncle Fidele

Beat It by Michael Jackson for cousin Darcy to dance to. It's great fun! He's got a whole routine choreographed..

So, all in all, it was one heck of a party, can't wait to see the pictures!

And today the boys went to a bowling birthday party. They loved it! Joey's turning out to be quite a good bowler. I think his final score was 114, not too shabby! Alex didn't break a hundred, it was close though 97 or 98. I'm thinking that maybe they could take up bowling as an extracurricular activity. Is that dorky? I never hear of anyone's kids being in a bowling league?!

Check out the sexiest part of my body :o)

Last night was Tamara's bridal shower and we had Janine from Twinkle Toes come and bedazzle our toes. Man, that girl is super fast and super fab! I'm seriously thinking that she should come to a Bunco Night or something to dress our toes up. They are so freaking sexy! The shower itself was pretty fab too! The Bride to Be was a great sport and played all the games the her sister-in-laws (to be) had planned out. She even played How Well Do You Know The Groom with jello shooters. She did really well and didn't have to drink up too much but then there was enough to share with us so it was really a win-win thing for everyone.

And my new shoes:

Aaron and I attended a wedding yesterday and as I was sitting in the church listening/watching the ceremony I realized how fugly my shoes were. So, after the ceremony and before the reception I ran out and picked up some more stylish shoes. Love love love them! BUT, the left shoes is a bit bigger and my foot slipped out a few times, so I'm thinking of just trying some flashtape to keep it on. Any other great ideas?
I have FINALLY finished getting everything ready for my Christmas Card workshop this Wednesday. I had everything done BUT there was a super fugly card that I just couldn't stand (Sorry Leanne) so I had to re-vamp it a bit too make it more appealing. Then I had to do instructions for all the cards, I love the stamping/teaching part but no so much the prep work.
Aaron and I have been Wii-fitting for about two weeks now and as a family we're all meeting our goals so far. Joey's gained a little bit, and the rest of us have lost a bit. I know, I know, I shouldn't encourage Alex to diet because he's a growing boy BUT he's on the top side of the scales and seems to lack energy lately. His doctor is in on the plan as well so spare me the lectures please! Speaking of doctor's, his doctor thinks his bad skin is either a result of too much calcium (that boy loves his milk and cheese) or he's just prone to not-smooth skin. For now we're trying Aquaphor on him and we'll see what comes of it.
Now we're counting down to Thanksgiving and we'll FINALLY meet our new baby cousin Harlie. Can't wait to have a baby in the house again!
