It's too early to WISH in the BOOK, isn't it?

The Wish Book arrived Monday evening and the kids have already started making their lists.
This is Alex's list. It will need to be deciphered a wee bit. If I read it slowly and sound it out phonetically I'll be able to figure most of it :o) I did figure out I WONT TO HAV A JROM SET is I want to have a drum set. And something about spy gear.

Good for them and all that writing, what good practice.

Gotta love "authentic writing practice"! It's a lot more fun and meaningful than homework.

All kids love going through the Sears Wish Book. When you were their age, you would pour over each page and study it carefully before making your list...and this was ALWAYS after Hallowe'en, not in August!

I ask you this...why do we consider June July August as the summer months, but Christmas stuff starts appearing in August. That makes what should be a festive season out to be 4 months long. Darn retailers, trying to get my money! LOL

I have a love hate relationship with the Wish Book.
I HATE hearing about "Can I buy this?"
Yet....
it's better than TV!
If I need some 5 yr old to settle down and have some "quiet time" he is sent to the couch with the wish book!
Oh, please keep those lists! They'll be so fun to reminisce over in years to come.
