Yeah it's Friday!

We are ready for the party tomorrow night!

Here's proof:
Any guesses who this is?

No? How about if I use the flash?
Yep, it's JT. The kids were playing Hide and Go Seek (which is also known as Hide and Go Sneak in this house) yesterday afternoon and they couldn't find JT. He was in the closet behind Aaron's long coat and his feet were on the shelf so they couldn't see anything on the floor. He was so proud of himself. I just kept thinking pee-eww...all those shoes and boots don't smell so fresh.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Quick photo update

We've been overwhelmed with stuff lately so I've been neglecting the family blog. Sorry but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and I know we'll be back to normal in about a week's time. So, thanks for bearing with us.
In the meantime here's a few quick pics:

It was 100th day of Kindergarten today so they celebrated with a float parade. Alex's float had 100 gumballs - there was a slight incident upon arrival this morning and a few gumballs were inside the box - but there was 100!

This afternoon the kiddies played dressup with our costumes and here's JT as the Hulk. Ooooh scarryyyy....

And is it just me or does Aaron look really young in this pic? I'm not sure if it's because his hairs not 'done' or because it's black and white but he looks wayyyy younger than just about 34. Just call me Mrs. Robinson :oP

We've been touched by an angel

I've come across this saying through extended family which I think sums up my thoughts:

"When someone you love is in heaven, there's a piece of heaven in your heart"

Josephine was a very caring, thoughtful woman and we were all blessed to have her in our lives. Love you Josephine!

Doesn't this SHOUT fun?!?

Today I blew up some decorations for the Beach Bash this Saturday and let me tell you the dayhome kids had a BLAST!
And to think no batteries were required...

Once again Beavers are cool

There was no argument about Beavers this week, the boys wanted to go and they LOVED it.
Here's what they brought home:
This is JT's pet rock - it's a Spotted Toad.
And here's Alex's pet rock - it's The Hulk:

And here's Alex's latest booklet from Kindergarten- it's the Earth with stars and his rocket ship. And here's my little astronaut. The picture is really blurry because I was too lazy too scan it. Maybe tomorrow I will. In any case, you get the idea. My kids are cute.

We've booked our flights

We are not going anywhere exotic but we're excited all the same. We're going to Miramichi for Nanny's 75th birthday - it feels like coming home. Which is ironic because it's not my home and never was BUT that's where most of my family is.
And it's just Aaron and I going - which will be a little strange but the boys will already be back to school and with the time change and it's only a long weekend we figured we'd go solo. I'm sure they'll have their own mini-vacation with Grandma and Grandpa.

Attention all Jodi Picoult Lovers

The movie The Tenth Circle starring Kelly Preston has been released! I knew it was to be released in the UK Feb 2nd but couldn't find out anything about North American dates. I just happened to be at Blockbuster and seen it on the shelf. Unbelievably I didn't rent it. I'm waiting for the next hockey night for Aaron and Andrew so I can watch it with Leanne - who also reads Jodi books. I can't wait!

Definitely an ear infection

After much complaining and feeling sorry for myself I finally went to the doctor yesterday to discover that it's indeed an ear infection. I knew it, but was hoping it would clear up on its own. That obviously didn't happen.
BUT because I'm such a great mother I still went with Aaron, the boys, Chris & Easton to watch Monster Jam yesterday at the Saddledome.
I was the only adult in there wearing the giant ear protectors but I'm sure my ears thank me for it!

Why me?

Tonight is my weekly Strippy class with Andrea. Notice that I'm at home blogging versus learning how to do stuff like this:
I even made sure I had some 4 inch heels to wear, and a tight fitting tank top, loose fitting tee and zip up sweater. I was so excited to learn the correct way to 'fling' my clothes.
Tonight was THE night and I'm at home - sick. I think it's just a sinus cold at this point. We've all been exposed to SO much lately that it's hard to tell.

Maybe next week they'll have a refresher for us sickies who couldn't come tonight. A girl can hope, right? ...More like Aaron can hope, right? :oP

A ha-ha for Monday

Today was a first

JT didn't want spiked hair for school. What's up with that? We even had to do spiked hair in the winter and use Spiker glue so they'd hold up to the Toque Test JT would perform. I'm sure you can figure out for yourself that it was whether or not the spikes would still stand after wearing his winter toque...did I spell that right?

Out of the mouths of babes

Uncle Aaron meets Liam for the first time. Seriously, I don't even think I had my shoes off and Aaron had already rescued Liam from laying peacefully in his crib.
Me and Liam, I didn't put him down for much more than 5 or 10 minutes last night...and that was only when Aaron had wrestled him away from me :oPThing One, Thing Two and Liam. Alex was a bit jealous that he didn't get the first hold BUT we went by age - seemed the fairest way at the time. When we left Auntie Kathryn and Uncle Jeff's last night I asked the boys what they thought of little Liam.
Thing One: They should have called him JT like me.
Thing Two: He's perfect.
Isn't that precious?! I'll admit that Alex definitely has a thing for babies. He constantly wants to touch Liam, or have me crouch down so he can see him better or let him give him kisses on his forehead.
Who really needs toys? If you want to keep two little boys busy so you can visit without interruptions just give them a set of handcuffs and a key, ha ha. That was probably the second best part of Alex's night. First would be holding Liam followed closely by being handcuffed. These boys are so funny!

It's been a busy week!

I have no idea with what but I feel like I haven't had more than a few minutes here and there to check email, Facebook and blog...I have 56 emails in my inbox waiting for me...ugh...

We're going to visit Liam (and parents) tomorrow evening so I'm sure there will be pics to post Friday night!

Robbie Burns 09

The Rudolph nose wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I think the big zit I was sporting was worse than the nose, but I digress. The boys had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese yesterday morning so I treated myself to an updo and an hour of peace and quiet versus hangin with the birthday kids. It was HEAVEN! Nothing like a little pampering to put a girl in the I'm A Princess mood.
The guys looked great in their kilts, the ladies looked great in their non-Mommy clothes and a good time was had by all!
In the back row you can see Aaron who's not facing the camera, and Jason and even a little bit of Brett. The guests were invited up at the end of the Highland Dance performances to give it a try. I think our 3 men were the highlight of that number ;o)

Why does Aaron have that deer in the headlights look? Here is Aaron our un-official carrier of the haggis. Here's the 3 stooges. I mean Here's Aaron, Jason and Brett.
